Like every teacher believes, my students are amazing and they deserve the very best. I teach in a small rural school. We serve both a large Native American community, as well as, Military families. As a former United States Marine, I am humbled by their respect. Most of our families live in poverty. With such a low tax base, funding for schools is not always available, and our kids deserve more than we can provide. Never the less, they show up each day with resilience and a desire to learn. These kids inspire me everyday to be a better person, not just a better teacher. Their drive and smiles fuel my day. In second grade we have just begun our journey in learning, we have a long road ahead of us. It is my desire to make sure that I am giving them a strong foundation to build their love of learning.
