Our school is what you would describe as a "typical" elementary school. We vary in backgrounds, socio-economic levels, and ethnicities. My classroom currently has 28 students with varying needs and wants. I teach 4th grade reading, math, writing, and earth science. We switch for subjects so I have all 54 fourth graders in my room at some point during the day. My students are amazing and I try to help them reach their potential and meet there needs in any way I can. Some come from a trauma background, some are English language learners, some qualify for free and reduced lunch, and some are from affluent households.
Although we have many differences, what brings us all together is our desire to be a community of learners.
We strive to support, encourage, and challenge each other.
