My Kindergarten students spend a good portion of their day on the classroom carpet. Students start the day with calendar and morning meeting on the carpet. After lunch, students sit on the carpet to hear a read aloud. They also meet on the carpet for large group directions/instructions throughout the day. Students love to utilize the carpet during free choice time as they spread out the classroom toys to imagine and learn with their friends.
Adding a classroom carpet will allow my students to have a clean, comfortable, bright, and welcoming carpet to sit on as they learn throughout the day. The bright colors on the carpet are engaging and the ABCs around the trim assign a picture to each letter to help students learn letter names.
