The materials I chose for my project were carefully selected with the individual needs of my students considered. I found that my students enjoy and are more engaged when their setting is switched up. This is why I selected the table and fruit pillows, as well as the individual floor desks.
I want my students to feel safe and comforted in my class, because they may not always feel that way outside my protection. The remaining items such as the bookshelf, pillows, bean bag, etc. are to create a space where my students can go to relax, read, or do independent work. This is something my classroom lacked last year and I could tell my student yearned for somewhere to go when they were overwhelmed.
