My students come from an urban area and are very inspirational to all in the school community. My students may face many challenges in their daily lives, but they are always very appreciative of their educational opportunities and this energy is contagious throughout our school. When given the correct resources they are motivated and truly want to learn what is being taught.
My classroom is a place where students can improve their reading skills and reach their full potential. It is important to me, as an educator, that every child is given the opportunity to not only read fluently, but also comprehend what is being read. I want them to also have the ability to connect their reading to themselves and the world around them. Together both my students and I use our best practices as well as put in our best effort. I teach the students the necessary skills, and my students try their hardest to master those skills.
