Having access to Chrome Books in our History classroom will allow us to make History come alive. We will have access to using digital resources such as Junior Scholastic, Kids Discover, and Google Classroom that will allow students to use inquiry based learning to make the topics more relevant and exciting to each student. These resources are interactive and visual, which is appealing to most students. These resources also allow us to tie in current events with topics that have happened in the past. This is especially true with topics such as the Civil War and the current issue as to what to do with Civil War statues in the South.
Motivated learners are lifelong learners, and having access to exciting resources will help us achieve this goal! Our students are our future, and they need to learn about the past and how it has helped shape the world we live in today. With this knowledge, they can help make the world a better place for everyone.
I'm so excited to be able to provide these resources to my students, as I know they will thrive with the ability to use technology to help them learn. An added benefit is that these resources are customizable to be able to adapt to the learning levels of each student, thus helping them achieve more and become more confident learners.
