I thrive to provide my students with a fun and relaxing environment to work in or take brakes in as needed. When working in special education, we are to give our students the accommodations they need to succeed. This project will allow me to provide rewards, break time, and a fun work environment for my students.
I plan to create a break corner in my room that will include a couch, the rug I have listed, cards to play games with, and an iPad equipped with a drawing program so students may draw while saving paper. This corner will motivate students to work towards their desired reward and allow a positive reinforcement model in my classroom.
To help promote a fun classroom environment, I have included some wall decor, organizational storage, and fidget toys. The majority of class time is spent getting work done. Providing students with a decorated and organized room along with toys meant to keep them focused will help promote productivity and overall satisfaction of students.
