In my public school, I have a group of 23 first graders with varying needs and abilities. They LOVE school and learning and enjoy every day. They truly learn best when discussing rich literature with a partner or in groups of 3. They also love looking at books that we've read together in class. These are also the most popular in the library! One of their favorite end of the day activities is reading around the room. They get to use teacher pointers to read anything and everything in the room. A lot fo the students like to "play school" during this time. Imagination is hard to find with all of the video games and technology available that I am excited to see that my students still have an imagination! I hope to expand upon their love of imagination and creativity through literacy stations which is also something they enjoy.
