My students recently earned (thanks to Donors Choose!) new flexible seating, Kore Teen Wobble Chairs! We use stations daily to work on projects or to dig into new literature or to perfect their personal writing pieces. When we are not doing station work, they may use their wobble chairs at their desks or for silent reading time. My students will use the Bouncy Bands while they're working at their desks and desk-based stations. My students often will tap or kick their desks to help them concentrate, but this creates a distraction to their peers. The foot bands allow quiet, forceful foot movement with minimal to no audio distraction. We also use hand and pencil fidgets because they offer my students a mobile way for them to continue to responsibly deal with their intrinsic needs to move in order to concentrate in other classes such as their collaborative core classes and specials.
