The classroom environment I create is all about the students.
Every morning they show me how they are feeling by using post-it notes and sticking them onto emojis I have placed up. I use their responses to meet with them throughout the day.
I also understand that everyone learns differently and some of us need to be constantly moving. Sometimes this means I have to change up my classroom seating arrangement. Other times, it means allowing the students to get up and move around. Because many of my students feel the need to move, I incorporate collaborative activities that require movement.
When time permits, I try to give my student brain breaks. We will watch meditation or yoga videos for kids. My students seem to like this a lot.
I do what I can to meet each of my students' individual needs because they deserve it. No matter how challenging something might be, they try and never give up. They persevere.
