The highlighters and binders will help students organize their learning. The binders create collaborative groups where work can be stored, revise, and submitted. The different color highlighters are for the students annotations skills. Each color represents a different way of thinking about what they are reading. This creates a deeper thinking, and ultimately deeper learning on the students part. When students highlight in yellow they are tracking main ideas within any text that they use. Highlighting in green, means that the student personally responded to what they read. Highlighting in red means they have a question about what they’re reading. And last, highlighting in blue means that they are able to cite evidence about what they’ve read.
