I teach third grade at a wonderful school. Although we are considered high poverty, we are also a high achieving school and have qualified as a California Distinguished School twice. With the immense cuts in budgets, we have very little money for anything but the necessities (and oftentimes not even for those) so many of us spend our own money to provide what we can. I want my students to have every opportunity possible to help them to achieve academically, socially, and emotionally.
