Students in this low-income area often come to school to receive the nutrition, safety and cleanliness that they otherwise often do not receive at home. My elementary music classroom serves 500 under-privileged children in 1st through 5th grades at a Title 1 school in a high-need community. I want to be able to teach my students in a safe, comfortable and CLEAN environment, but our dirty old linoleum floors do not provide that.
