Hi! In my first grade classroom you will find bookshelves packed with books of every category and level, individual book boxes for each student, comfortable and fun chairs and reading areas, and more. Most of the items & furniture in my room have been very well-loved over the years!
As I prepare to begin my 12th year as an elementary teacher, I've noticed that many of my reading supplies and furniture (many purchased on a new teacher's salary) are beginning to deteriorate to the point where they need to be replaced. For example, my current bookshelves are leaning and the backs are coming apart. They could collapse at any moment with the slightest pressure. The book boxes I purchased a decade ago (dish tubs from the dollar store) are cracking and breaking, leaving sharp edges. A few of our classroom rugs are fraying around the edges. Also, my students found it very difficult to store their book bins on the wall shelving unit because they were too tall to fit. This 星空传媒.org project will help us make the first necessary upgrade to our reading area.
I am currently asking for donations to purchase our first new bookshelf to replace our old, broken bookshelves. I would love to have nice-looking, sturdy bookshelves that I can trust to hold our big library of books without toppling over on anyone. This bookshelf is a quality piece of classroom furniture with a lifetime warranty.
