My students are energetic, silly, and wiggly. They need lots of movement to keep their minds focused on a task. Multisensory learning has had the most success with my students.
I want my classroom environment to be clean, clear, organized, and 5 year old centered. In order to achieve this, I need flexible seating for my classroom. My wiggly learners need different options for sitting other than the traditional chair and table.
I reflect on my teaching practices often. I strongly believe that the classroom environment plays a major role in student achievement. Therefore, I strive to improve upon it as often as I can. I believe a successful classroom environment will minimize feelings of uncertainty, loneliness, insecurity, and doubt. I want to empower my students to take responsibility for their learning and reflect upon what works best for them. I want them to discover the ways they learn best.
