The school where I work is a Title I school in suburban North Carolina. We have lots of poverty in the area, with more than half of students coming from low income families. Despite this, my second grade students come to school every day, ready to learn. However, many come only because they have to, not because they love school. I want to make my students LOVE school!
My students range from kindergarten to 4th grade level readers. It is frustrating to see my students head to the library to pick a book and find their choices severely limited. We are a Title I school that serves families from many different socioeconomic backgrounds. I have purchased some books out of pocket but not enough to go around. Please help me grow my readers!!
