Coming from low-income families, my students often lack experiences that enhance their background knowledge. When they don't have as many experiences, they aren't able to make as many connections that will help them retain their learning.
With the TIME for Kids magazines, I can enhance their reading as I transition them from learning to read to reading to learn. The Merge Cubes will provide us opportunities to take virtual field trips and see what we're studying in an augmented reality. It's not a substitute for them seeing it in person, but it'll help give my students the experiences they need to make connections as we learn.
