Since the onset of remote learning due to COVID-19, teachers and students alike have rapidly learned new technology and methods of teaching and learning from afar. As a science teacher, I have had to make drastic changes in my approach to teaching in order to provide high-quality instruction while facing the many limitations presented by the pandemic.
Science, by its very nature, is interactive. Labs, group projects, critical thinking, and peer feedback are essential in my classroom. Using an iPad and Apple Pencil, I will be able to use device-specific apps to do lab demonstrations and manipulations with apps like Cell and Cell Structure, use apps like Jamboard to teach and diagram with students in real-time, utilize augmented reality to dive into human body systems, cells and more. I am so excited about the possibilities that this technology offers!
