Many of my students are intellectually disabled with significant language processing skills and some physical disabilities. They struggle in their learning but with the right tools and support they can be successful. These children love being in school and the structure in place helps them attain the skills they need to continue learning. My students needs materials that are hands on, and durable and adaptable to their needs. Many of the teacher made materials are laminated and individualized for each learner. I have students who speak using a voice output device and have to carry it around all day for communication. My students also benefit from interactive activities on the smartboard or using a tablet if available. My recent donations of new furniture, a leveled library and distance teaching materials has enhanced my teaching in a positive way. I am so grateful to all those who supported me in my projects!
