I work in the Florida school district in a Title I school, servicing lower socio-economically disadvantaged students. At my work location,95 percent of the students are on free or reduced lunch. Over 50 percent of the students come from homes with one or both parents being migrant workers. As a reading/language arts/ social studies teacher, I am always looking for new and exciting ways to motivate my students. I believe that the TFK will help enhance their reading literacy as well as their knowledge and understanding of different places and the major events surrounding them.
