The students who I teach typically begin Kindergarten with no previous school/preschool/daycare experience. The majority of my students do not know how to write his/her name, but eager to learn when they start with me in August. By the end of the school year, they are reading and writing sight words and simple sentences and ready for First Grade. They absorb every minute of learning that I expose them too. My personal goal is set the tone for a lifelong love of learning.
I teach in a Title 1 school in Indiana. My school has one of the highest free and reduced lunch rates, and one of the highest mobility rates in my school district.
My classroom has 1:1 iPads and participates in Personalized Learning which includes, digital content integration, targeted group instruction, student reflection, and data driven decisions.
