My middle school Library Media Center has a nonfiction collection that the average age is over 22 years old! I have weeded out books due to age, irrelevancy, incorrect information, no interest, and some that were just plain ugly! I'm looking to revamp the nonfiction section with popular graphic novels and manga, cookbooks, and I-Spy books. Students also need updated books regarding popular biographies and autobiographies, unexplained phenomena, computer programming, space and environmental sciences, ecology, habitats, culture of other countries, immigration/refugees, world history, sports, wars, countries, careers, and technology.
