My students will use the new books during literacy centers, independent reading time, and classroom free time throughout the day. Students will also be able to take books home to read. Our class currently has a library where the majority of books are at least 30 years old. Many are falling apart and students are turned off by this.
My project will make a difference with my students because age- and reading-level appropriate, new books will help fuel their passion for reading.
New books in the library will also help support them in building literacy skills including vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency. Books will also help my students deepen their passion and love for reading.
