The students in my classroom are learning first-hand how technology is changing the face of education as we have grown to know it over the last century. The traditional ways of teaching are on the verge of fading away, and with each new technological advancement, a new spark and connection to the classroom has taken shape.
As I progress through my Master's program in the field of Educational Technology, I feel that I can truly change the live's of my students by incorporating some of these technological innovations into my lessons, but one small key component to that idea is constantly holding us back: our lack of durable headphones! I usually resort to supplying my classroom with headphones throughout the year with cheap and sometimes rarely-functioning headphone sets purchased with money out of my own pocket, but the amazing things that could be done with the technology we do have in the room would be elevated greatly if my students could focus on learning and creating instead of finding a functional pair of headphones each time they sit down with a piece of tech.
We are fortunate enough to have a set of 10 iPads in our classroom, and even though they are a bit older, they are definitely sufficient enough to help facilitate some amazing tech-based learning projects and daily rotation work, but the headphones to go with the iPads are another story entirely. By creating this project, my hope is that we can obtain a pair of solid, durable headphones that will last through this year and well into the future for each iPad that we have, so that students can obtain that full experience of how technology can be used to enhance their own learning.
