My amazing 3rd-5th grade special education students are incredibly hard working and engaged learners. Our classroom thrives with rich discussions, friendly discourse, and engaging hands-on activities. Unfortunately, limited access to resources has left my students working with very outdated and damaged classroom furniture.
Your support on this project will help me create a safe, supportive classroom environment for all learners by providing students with a (much-needed) furniture update that fosters accessibility, collaboration, and teamwork. Many educational studies support the notion that students who have access to a comfortable learning environment often demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and self-confidence in relation to their learning. My students already love collaborating and working together on projects- we just need furniture that supports our many different needs, abilities, and personalities!
As we transition back into the classroom in the near future, my special education students will be in even greater need of a safe place to gather with their friends and teachers. We will have a lot of catching up to do, but I know that the possibilities of what my students can achieve is endless! Thank you for your support!
