STEAM is a new elective to our school, we are in need of materials, gadgets, flexible seating options, and an aquarium hood for our 55 gallon classroom fish tank. These items will be the initial tools and technology students will interact with. The Spheros, Lego WeDo Set, Makey Makey and other gadgets will help develop our coding skills, interactive computing, understanding of augmented reality and spark student interest while developing critical thinking skills. The seating options will help facilitate collaboration and give students choice in their standard learning environment. Our fish tank hood broke so we are in need of a replacement, students are able to interact with a living ecosystem, test water parameters, and enjoy the tank for aesthetics. Most importantly these tools will be the way our students learn STEAM concepts, allow for student collaboration, and grow their hands on engineering, coding, and life skills throughout the year.
