English Language Learners learn best by doing, manipulating, using their hands, and absorbing new experiences through sensory stimulation. These materials will be used with Kindergarten through 2nd grade students at a low income area school. Funds to buy resources are limited as they are, and more when the ESL program is used as a support, and funds are almost half of what regular classroom teachers get to buy materials for their classrooms.
These materials will help students learn the basic concepts of letter recognition, sounds, read, and write (phonemic awareness) of the English language and be prepared for college.
