My students are usually at their most enthusiastic when they get to experience technology and procedures that anyone in a STEM field would experience. The highlight for many students are the times they get to work with the microscopes. However, some of our students are not able to use our microscopes as intended, due to a concussion or a need for visual supports. In our classroom, the microscope camera will serve as an incredible resource for students who need visual supports, as it provides real-time footage of your microscope on the larger screens of a tablet or laptop with the ability to print any of the pictures taken. With the support of the camera, these students can experience the same joy and enthusiasm surrounding the technology as their peers, rather than experience it second-hand through them. In addition, the technology can be used to record demonstrations or dissections for absent students, create labelled pictures to use in class, or be utilized for real-time observation when we do not have the resources to provide for all students. Your generous donation will help all students experience the joy and excitement they have come to expect in science courses. With all students able to experience the same content as their peers, they will have more opportunity for confident discussion, collaboration, and unity in the classroom.
