I am requesting a wide variety of both fiction and nonfiction books at various below grade reading levels for my struggling readers. My classroom library does not contain books that are low enough to accommodate the lowest of my below grade level readers. These books will be available in the classroom for students to choose and keep in the book boxes at their desk for independent reading time. My goal is to be able to provide books that students will enjoy over and over again, that will help them grow as readers. Providing interesting reading materials at students' independent reading level will allow students to practice their reading skills with comprehension and without frustration. It will also go a long way toward fostering a life long love of reading in my students.
