My classroom is made up of 27 second grade students who have been grouped heterogeneously. There are several different academic levels and a handful of students with Individualized educational plans that requires modifications and special services. Differentiated instruction is practiced on a daily basis in order to meet the various learning styles that are present in my classroom. With the help of a special educator, appropriate services and resources are accessed to meet exceptional learning needs. Recently implemented during the 2017-2018 school year, our second grade classes have become departmentalized. With this recent implementation, I have become a math teacher, exclusively. It is exciting to be able to pour all of my passion of teaching and commitment to student success into one specific content area. All of my students can and will become magnificent mathematicians!
