I teach in a 1st - 4th grade Low-Incidence Special Education classroom. It is a small class size to meet the academic, behavioral and social emotional needs of the students. My students have Down syndrome, Autism and/or Intellectual Disabilities as well as other health conditions that affect their learning. The students receive Speech Therapy, Social Work Services, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. They are in a self-contained classroom and join their grade level peers for Art, Gym, Recess and Lunch. They attend school activities with the same- aged peers such as field trips, assemblies and attendance incentives.
