When students are able to track their own growth they begin to take ownership of their work. The binders I am asking for will hold the students data tracking sheets. These sheets are created for attendance, behavior, reading, and math. Students create goals for themselves in these areas and then work to meet them. When we take assessments the students record their score on their tracking sheet, they then reflect on their score. They state whether they met their goal or not, and why or why not. They then create a goal for their next assessment.
Setting personal goals and self monitoring their progress gives students a purpose for working hard. The students are excited when they reach their goals, and when they do not they reflect and make plans for the next time.
