This year I have the pleasure of teaching an Autism Special Day Classroom with a fabulous group of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students. My students are visual learners, rule-and interest based thinkers. They thrive in a classroom environment with resources and materials that are hands-on and relevant in every day life. When they arrive at school, we begin the day with sensory activities. Although sensory time may look like play, I noticed that these activities prepare my students emotionally and behaviorally. They are more alert, calm and focused, and are able to pay attention and engage in learning. My goal is to get my projects funded so I can create a classroom environment most conducive to learning for my students with autism. I am hoping that you can help me achieve this goal. You can donate to my projects or help spread the word. Your donation and funding would mean the world to
us! Thank you for your generosity!
