As the times are changing and the world is becoming more 鈥淭ech- Savvy鈥, my kindergarten students need Chromebooks to build that technology foundation. Chromebooks in Kindergarten will open many doors to students that have never had the opportunity to experiment with technology. Three quarters of my students are from economically disadvantaged families. These students have never had the opportunity to explore with computers.
Being able to have Chromebooks available in our classroom at all times would increase availability to accommodate diverse learning needs while at the same time preparing the little ones for our 21st century lifestyle filled with expanding technology. The Chromebooks will be used as a technology center. Our school has many educational websites for students to learn while playing interactive games. Students would be exposed to Raz Kids, Jiji Math, Starfall, ABC Mouse and other educational websites.
English learners will also benefit from having Chromebooks accessible in class at all times. The technology would act as a liaison by using programs to help students transition and translate from their native language into English. There are so many different ways I would be able to incorporate technology into my classroom, but most importantly, having Chromebooks will allow me to help my students be exposed to technology.
