In the Iowa school district where I teach, a majority of the families struggle with poverty. Our free and reduced lunch is around 75%. Therefore, many families struggle to give their children experiences outside of our town. It is our job as teachers to create experiences for these children. I have a class of 14 wonderful second graders and I enjoy watching the children grow and learn each day.
