I currently work in a school district that is low-income. About 60% of students receive free and reduced lunch. Not only that, the school is also the largest in the state with almost 3400 students. Because it is a large school it is difficult for all students to have the same resources in and out of school. Many students do not have access to technology at home. This population is largely composed of the ELL students. Not only do these students have to assimilate in to this new society quickly, they lack many resources other students have. My goal is for all students in my classroom to feel equally because they all have access to all the resources needed to achieve in this new fast-paced technology growing world. As a science teacher I want to make science education attainable to all students no matter their financial or language barrier. All students should have the skills to succeed and it starts in my class!
