Everyday we do literacy stations in our kindergarten classroom. During these centers, we do a listening to reading station. We need headphones so each student can listen to their own story during literacy stations. Many of my students were unable to purchase their own headphones for school. This became very challenging to listen to reading during our literacy stations. Listening to reading is a powerful early literacy skill that all students need to be effective readers. These headphones will be very helpful and reusable from year to year.
Cooperation and teamwork is a skill we are trying to teach our young learners. Providing students with cooperative games will teach them how to work together to reach the same goal. We have a great social and emotional curriculum we stated using last year. These cooperative games will emphasize the skills we are teaching our students each and every day. I look forward to seeing our students working together and helping one another while playing games. I believe these games and skills will be transferred into other parts of our learning and growing this year!
