Our students show an immense amount of excitement and interest in science exploration. For many, this is their first true exposure to a real science inquiry based classroom. The opportunity to expand their scientific minds has increased their overall engagement in school, not just in science class but in all of their coursework. However, too many questions and thoughts are going without being shared. I can only call on so many students at any given time leaving some students out of the conversation, or without the feedback they need to further their thinking. A set of clickers will give a voice to the many scientists, technicians, engineers and mathematicians that are quietly evolving in my classroom. STEM is currently the focal point of curriculum for science education; However, with the lack of proper materials and funds, the 7th grade students at ACE FM are failing to experience a successful, exciting, and self engaging STEM environment. These clickers give everyone, teachers and students, the opportunity to ask and learn from their classmates with immediate feedback.
