I teach special education; specifically Adult Transition in an inner city school district where resources are difficult to acquire. My students have Development Disabilities, Autism, and Other Health Impairments. Despite the challenges they face on day to day basis, they come to school every day with smiles on their faces and ready to learn. I want to provide my students with resources that enrich their educational experience and prepare them for their transition into adult life. The goal of adult transition is to teach students to become as independent as possible. Through community based learning and elective classes, they learn vocational skills, community safety, social and emotional skills, money management and purchasing skills, and daily living skills. They take classes such as Gardening, Wilderness Skills, Arts & Crafts, Yoga, Sports, Gym, Drama, & Job Skills Training. Thank you in advance for your support.
