A variety of seating options helps students find a comfort level that allows them to learn more freely. The more we meet children's basic comfort needs, the more they are able to focus on learning new information and applying it.
As brand-new middle schoolers, my students need to be able to move, wiggle, and rearrange furniture or groups so they can collaborate, work independently, or get super creative! I want to get my students out of the all-desk-classroom-rut, and into some options! Tables and chairs along with some wobble stools will provide all of my students with places to learn that will work best for them.
