I am committed to doing whatever it takes to create a loving, comfortable, rigorous classroom environment for our Scholars. I believe in cultivating responsible and considerate individuals that are equipped with the academic, executive functioning, and social & emotional skills necessary to be successful in whatever dreams they have for their future. My school is located in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood. According to wikipedia, "in 2000, Englewood had a poverty rate of 44%, which was substantially higher than the overall poverty rate in Chicago of 20%". In our school, 98% of students are classified as low income.
