My students are amazing! They have faced and continue to face so much adversity from broken homes and challenging childhoods, and yet still demonstrate the greatest potential in the world, with the proper motivation. I teach an 6:1:1 special class in a specialized school in the South Bronx. In a poverty-rich community, with almost all students receiving free meals, my students experience their adolescence with unstable living environments that leads to a lack of focus on education. Their lack of familial support and adversity has significantly inhibited their academic, as well as their socioemotional progress thus far. Imagine all this, now with cognitive, and physical disabilities. Given everything, my students still want to learn. They are interested in current events, and feeling as typical teenagers as they possibly can. Please donate to help my students!
