My students attend an urban Title I school where we are in our first year as International Baccalaureate Visual Arts program. We are a culturally and ethnically diverse school which provides a setting for great conversation and exploration within the arts. Students are intelligent, motivated and resilient despite their home lives. Our school is welcoming and holds students to an extremely high standard. This high standard within our culture has proved successful in our local community and helps drive our students to their personal goals as future college graduates. Students here hunger for the arts and find value in diversity. Despite their economic disadvantages, our students make no excuse on their journeys to become life long learners.
