I absolutely love the fact I get to arrive to school every day and make an impact on a student's life. Many students at my school come from low-income households and undergo more than the average student. Many have experiences that I, myself never had to ensure. I became a teacher so that I could positively impact students and motivate them to make a difference in their futures. I believe my students deserve to arrive in a positive, safe, loving environment where they can achieve at their full potential.
Majority of students live at or below the poverty level and receive free breakfast and lunch from school daily.
Palmetto Elementary is a Title I school. We have a very diverse population consisting of Hispanic, Haitian, African-American, Caribbean & Vietnamese. Our school's mission is to lead our students to success with the support and involvement of families in the community.
