What I love most about teaching at my school is the rich diversity of my students. I teach students from a variety of races, languages and socioeconomic status.
My students love books! They are curious about them, want to get their hands on them and love to listen to someone read to them.
In our classroom, we follow the Daily Five model during our reading block. The Daily Five consists of five choices for the students: Read to Self, Read to Someone, Listen to Reading, Work on Writing and Word Work. Of these choices, the Listen to Reading center is always the most popular!
