I come from a low-income Title I school where students come from all walks of life. Many of my students live in one-parent households, non-custodial households, and hotels. These students lack every day necessities that they need to survive--like food and shelter. Even though, they face these struggles, they are excited and ready to learn! They light up when they enter the classroom! They enjoy learning new things, they enjoy reading, and they enjoy the positive reinforcement they receive from me! They are amazing young people that I am honored to teach!
Our classroom is alive and vibrant! Students are engaged and enjoying hands on learning! All of them can be seen with a book in their hand several times a day! They love reading to me and to each other! There is such energy within the four walls of our classroom! I cannot imagine doing anything else but teaching these great young scholars!
