I want to create an environment that will allow students to do their personal best. These furniture items will allow students the option to choose flexible seating over traditional school desks and chairs.
There is a big push in education to promote student choice. Students will walk into the classroom and be able to make the decision about where they will be the most successful in learning that day. Making choices empowers students to engage in their own learning. My students need a variety of seating options including a bean bag chairs, standing desk, wooden stools, and butterfly stools. The clipboards will help my students complete their classwork while not sitting directly at a desk!
Classrooms with flexible seating are not only experiencing higher student engagement but they do not encounter as many behavioral problems. By creating an environment where there are less distractions from poor behaviors, all of the students will be able to learn at their fullest potential.
