"it takes a big heart to sculpt little minds"
Here at Chester Community Charter School my students come from Chester and Philadelphia, PA a low-income, subsidized housing neighborhood. Students are offered a free lunch, some know this lunch to be the only healthy meal they will receive on any given day. Many of my students come to school extremely under-prepared, not knowing skills like holding a pencil, or copying their name. Other students have experienced sad, violent events in their five little years of life that I couldn't imagine witnessing in my 27 years. These kiddos need a lot of attention but each one truly touches my heart each day, only a teacher can imagine the energy that shines in my Kindergarten classroom.
