I have students that live in an urban school district in upstate New York. All students at our school receive free and reduce lunch. My students deal with many hardships outside of school and I do my very best every day to give them an escape from that and bring their learning to life. My goal as their first grade teacher is to give them a love of life long learning, teaching them to set goals to achieve, and teaching them that if they put in the work they can reach their wildest dreams. Each of my students have a greatness within them and I believe that it is my job to help them see that greatness within themselves. Many of the days I go to work the students teach me just as much as I teach them and for that I am forever grateful.
