I am currently serving as the Social Emotional Learning Teacher on Special Assignment (SEL TOSA) at our school. I also serve as the Behavioral Interventionist.
I have the privilege and responsibility of working with all the scholars in the building, ages 4-11. I engage with students in our classroom setting, small groups, and on an individual basis.
We work on a variety of skills to promote social emotional learning and developmentally appropriate strategies to support the students' mental health and well-being.
Additionally, we are gaining traction in our Anti-Bias curriculum lessons. We have classroom discussions on the following topics:
Respect Across Differences
Empathy & Understanding
Name, Notice & Reject Biases
Healthy, Complex Identities
Responsiveness and Action
We are also continuing to work on our growth mindset, the power of yet, personal growth, goal setting and other life skills.
